No Photos? No Problem!

It’s always a bummer when I go to scrap my Project Life layout for a certain week and I find that I don’t have any (or hardly any) photos from that week! What do I do? I can’t just skip a week! Some would argue that you COULD, but my OCD just won’t allow it. So, I’ve come up with a list of non-photo oriented ideas that you could use to fill up your PL spread for a slow week. I thought I’d share the list with you so that when you’re lacking photos, you can just refer to my list!

  1. What’s Happening? Use a card for each day of the week and journal about what you did that day, what the kids did, etc. No Photos? No Problem!
  2. Currently…You’ve seen this one around everywhere. What are you currently reading, watching, crafting, thinking, eating, etc. No Photos? No Problem!
  3. Weather. Self-explanatory.
  4. Quotes. Write down your favorite quotes from the week.
  5. Interview. Interview one of your kids, or your significant other, or everyone in your family. Ask them all the same questions and record their answers.
  6. Throw Back. What were you doing 1 year ago on that date? 10 years ago? You could even include a photo. I included a wedding photo on the week of my wedding anniversary in this layout: No Photos? No Problem!
  7. Lists. Listers gotta list! You can make a list of ANYTHING! Your favorite books of all time, your favorite stores, your favorite vacation spots, your favorite shoes. Even your current to-do list is fun to look back on. On this layout I included a top 5 list of my daughter’s favorite rides from a amusement park trip: No Photos? No Problem!
  8. Planner Love. I’m a planner. My entire life is recorded in my planner. Take a pic of your daily planner and incorporate it into your layout. image6
  9. Social Media. Take a screenshot of your current Facebook status, twitter feed, etc.
  10. Measure Up. Record your kids’ current height and weight.
  11. Goals. Journal about your current goals…weekly, monthly, or long-term.
  12. News. What’s in the news this week? Big Headlines, celebrity births/deaths, etc. How about a Superbowl win for the Patriots??? There is also lots of weather documentation on this page: image7
  13. Schedules. What’s your daily schedule?
  14. Cost of Living. What’s the current price of gas? Milk? Bread?
  15. What’s for Dinner? Record what you had to eat for the week. Even more fun…take a pic of the grocery receipt!

There you have it! 15 ideas to help you fill up your photoless PL layout! While it may seem like a bummer to not have many photos for the week right now, I think you’ll look back upon this little snapshot in time of what is going on in your life and really enjoy the not-so-commonly recorded memories you’ve captured. I’ll leave you with one more tip for filling up your slow week – take advantage of all the amazing cards and elements included in all of Traci’s Pocket Life Collections! They’re sure to add lots of interest to your words and memories! Happy PL’ing!
